The Spaniard, whose last hard-court tournament was the 2012 Sony Ericsson Open in Miami, let slip a 4-1 lead in the first set, but clinched it on a tie-break before breaking Harrison twice in the second set to claim victory in one hour and 34 minutes.
"I am satisfied to be in the next round. That's the most important thing," said Nadal. "Two weeks ago, I didn't really know if I would be here playing. I am happy to be here. I am happy to be in the third round. It was a good victory for me today against a good opponent.
"My physical performance needs to improve. My movement needs to improve. Matches like this help me. Any victory is important for me because that gives me the chance to play another day. That's what I need, to play matches. I need to compete.

Though she had taken out No.22 seed Varvara Lepchenko in the previous round, Arruabarrena-Vecino's run seemed to be coming to a close as the No.14-seeded Vinci cruised through the opening set in just 27 minutes; but Arruabarrena-Vecino stayed even with her through 4-all in each of the next two sets and pulled away just enough each time, eventually emerging with a 26 64 64 victory.
Arruabarrena-Vecino was 0-4 against Top 20 players going into the match, all four losses in straight sets and barely winning any games either - she won a total of 11 games in four matches against Svetlana Kuznetsova, Agnieszka Radwanska, Ana Ivanovic and Angelique Kerber. That all changed.
The road only gets tougher, though - next up for Arruabarrena-Vecino is No.2 seed Maria Sharapova.

Nuestros tenistas pasaron una prueba muy importante - participaron en Campeonato de Mini-tennis , en San Boi Accura .Todos y cada uno de ellos ha tenido buenos resultados .Hemos acabado la temporada 2009/2010 con mucho exito ,BRAVO !FELICIDADES !
